This piece is for The Silent Landscape show.

** I want to thank ~dimensionten for inspiring this piece (and two paintings I'm currently working on!). She left a comment on my Daily Deviation piece the other week (Franz & His Complicated Song) telling me that Franz reminded her of Hungarian folktales she used to watch as a child. Apparently the birds had fancy vines coming out of their mouths while they sang...well, as you can imagine, this sparked off an idea immediately and I just had to draw/paint the image that came into my mind! **

I'm glad my comment inspired you so much, and I'm flattered that you meantioned me here. Your style is very different from the birds in the folk tales. Try looking up 'magyar nepmesek' on youtube and you might be able to see one of those folk tales for comparison, but the last time I tried looking for them for you I couldn't find any even though I think I had one in my favorites before. They could have taken it out because of copyright issues.

Sorry it took me so long to reply. I have limited internet access lately.

Love the image, & the comments that followed are along the lines of what went through my head- I was thinking creation myths for some reason- birds singing foliage/trees into being- which would really be self-serving for the birds (& that's alright)- they'd always have a place to perch.

This is the most evocative image (for me) you've published here for a while! It seems to bring together your themes.

It is framed in the proportions of the Golden Section too.
